House amongst the trees
A steeply sloping site in the Slaney Valley in Wexford is covered in mature deciduous trees. The response to the brief for a new house on this site evolved as a steel column and beam frame structure to minimise disruptive ground works.
The house is positioned to avoid existing mature trees and is accessed via a bridge structure.
Three bedrooms and ancillary rooms are wrapped around a south-east facing living space on the ground floor with further storage and utility housed beneath in a basement.
The apex of a segmental slated pyramid roof terminates over the centre of the living space.
