Dalkey Extension
A largely unmodernised detached Victorian villa required reorganisation and conservation to suit the needs of a growing family.
Connecting the house to the garden through a new pavilion type structure was decided on as a sympathetic solution and whilst referencing the era of the original is designed as a clearly distinct entity.
The existing house is arranged on several levels across the sloping site and these levels were manipulated further to carve out a new bedroom at lower ground level with Lambstongue bronze doors leading to the garden.
The extension is clad externally with crinkly tin sheeting with Lambstongue steel windows and doors with a wraparound oak clad veranda to the garden.
