New Rural House Wicklow
To harness and track the passage of sun on a restricted and sloping site a curved iteration of the traditional cottage plan was developed. Placing the building to the North of the site with a singular window allows the building to form a screen from the road to a private south facing garden.
Two bedrooms are accessed around the fireplace in the main kitchen/dining/living area with a third bedroom off a short hallway. Forms are traditional apart from the arching plan and materials are a simple palate of natural slate, white render and hardwood windows and doors.
